Last surviving Class 12AR.  Was once the Germiston station pilot.
Has Vesconite
-equipped valve gear.

Has Vesconite-equipped valve gear.
Tender bogies to be converted to roller bearings.
Locomotive is intact and in safe, covered storage.

"Spikkels" Not operational
The only restored hand fired 15F.  Runs with a short tender.
Out of service – awaiting funding for repairs to wasted firebox front corners.
Repairs needed to smokebox saddle seal.
Locomotive is intact and in safe, covered storage.

"Gerda" Not operational
Mechanical Stoker. Has a long range EW type tender from Class 23.
Was based at Millsite, Krugersdorp.
Wears a unique dusky midnight-blue colour scheme.
Has Vesconite-equipped valve gear.
Out of service – awaiting funding for repairs to wasted firebox front corners.
Locomotive is intact and in safe, covered storage.  Many boiler fittings on 3046 for use and safety from theft.

"Janine" Fully Operational
Mechanically stoked 15F  - runs with long range EW type tender.
Fully Operational.
Only operable Class 15F in South Africa.  (Friends of the Rail have their intact but accident-damaged No. 3117)

25NC No.3052 "Avril" Not operational
Privately owned by David Shepherd.  (care of Sandstone heritage Trust.)
Mechanically stoked 15F  - runs with long range EW type tender.
Out of Service – awaiting funding for new boiler tubes.
Locomotive is intact and in safe, covered storage.

"Elize" Not operational (needs new steal tyrs)
Ex condenser.  Runs with an original 25NC tender instead of a ‘worshond.’
Was one of the last regular steam engines to pull the Trans Karoo
Only operable class 25NC in South Africa although other intact examples exist.

Privately owned by Wilfred Mole of Sandstone Estates.
Ex Condenser – fitted with a worshond tender.
Was kept intact by original crew after retirement due to worn driving wheels.
Out of service- Locomotive is intact.  Boiler lagging and jacket needs attention.

"Lyndie Lou" Fully operational
One of only 2 operating GMAM in South Africa.
Privately owned by Wilfred Mole of Sandstone Estates.
Still wears Brunswick Green Rovos Rail colours.

Hunslet Taylor Fully operational
Hunslet Taylor, 100HP
1951-built diesel-hydraulic Gardner-engined shunting locomotive.

DE 2 No.1207 Not operational
Privately owned by Wilfred Mole of Sandstone Estates.
Ex-Zimbabwe National Railways English-Electric Diesel.
Intact.  Needs attention to electrics and brake system.
Awaiting business model before restoration.
Locomotive is intact and in safe, covered storage.
